Happy Halloween

One of our family traditions is the kids go trick-or-treating with dad on Halloween. They love to be with him for this special time. I love to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters that come to our door.

Movie Night with Turleys

Elisabeth, Jared, and Ethan had a movie date with their Turley cousins while Jason and I went to the Temple. We tried a different kind of temple trip this time. We left during nap time so the kids would sleep. We got to the Turleys around dinner time. Sandra and Josh were so kind to feed us dinner and watch the kids while we went to Temple. Elisabeth, Jared, and Ethan had so much fun with their cousins!Jason and I had a wonderful Temple date, especially knowing it will be our last time in the Temple together for the next few months since #4 is expected to arrive here soon.

We got back to the Turleys around 8:45PM, made a bed in the car for Elisabeth and Jared, and drove home while the kids were sleeping. It was a great way to go to the Temple, but really hard to get up the next morning for church since we didn't get home until midnight.

Meteor Shower

At 5:30AM, this mat was covered with blankets and pillows on our front lawn. Jason invited me on a date last night to watch a meteor shower this morning. He is not a morning person so that means he must love me. And I skipped my morning run, so that must mean I love him. We saw 10 shooting stars, listened to the morning noises, and held hands under a bundle of blankets.

Applesauce

I was gone for a few hours yesterday taking Elisabeth to a birthday party and running a few errands. We came home to the smell of boiled apples and instructions on a website on how to make applesauce. Jason pulled out all of our canning supplies, thanks to grandma Norma, and made applesauce with Jared. This applesauce was made from 10-12 of the apples we picked at Carter's Mountain a few weeks ago. Jared cored and peeled all the apples with our magic corer and Jason spent a few hours in the kitchen making delicious applesauce while I was in the beginning stages of nesting......I moved the couches and vacuumed underneath them, I cleaned all the bathrooms, and organized the hall linen closet. It was a GREAT Saturday, we got so much accomplished!
